W-BEE Federal Credit Union was chartered as Wilkes-Barre City School Employees Federal Credit Union way back in 1938. In the 1980s, the charter was expanded to provide services to multiple educational groups in the Wyoming Valley, and W-BEE as we know it was born. We have come a long way since then, now offering share draft accounts with Mastercard debit cards, IRAs, a variety of loan types, and online account access. In the fall of 2023, we brought in Wyoming Area Federal Credit Union, and now we’ve become Wyoming Valley Educational Employees FCU!
Our focus on specific educational groups allows us provide a high level of service while keeping expenses low. Low expenses, in turn, enable us to provide higher-than-average dividends and low loan rates for our members.
Our members have the benefits of a larger institution (direct deposit, debit cards, high loan limits, etc.) and the personal touch of a smaller institution, since we frequently are able to know our members on a first-name basis.
Your funds are safe with us: accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration). IRA accounts are separately insured for another $250,000 by the NCUA. Our average assets per member are approximately $19,000.
